Pilot Medical Exams

Our clinic provides streamlined FAA Class 2 and Class 3 aviation medical exams to ensure you meet all regulatory health standards. Whether you are flying commercially, instructing, or piloting for recreation, we are here to help you maintain your medical certification and safely keep your wings.

Preparing for Your FAA Medical Exam

Please review the following instructions carefully to ensure a smooth, efficient certification process.

1. Complete Your FAA MedXpress Application (Required)

Before arriving at our clinic, you must complete the medical history portion of your application online.

  • Log in: Visit FAA MedXpress to submit your information.

  • Bring your number: You must bring your printed MedXpress Confirmation Number to your appointment. Our clinical team cannot initiate your physical exam without this number.

2. What to Bring to Your Visit

  • Identification: A valid Driver’s License or Government ID (Required).

  • Vision Correction: Your current eyeglasses and/or contact lenses. If you wear contacts, please bring your lens case and solution, as we must test your vision both with and without correction.

  • Medical Records: Documentation from any doctor or specialist visits for conditions other than routine wellness care.

  • Surgical/Hospital Records: Detailed documentation or clearance letters if you have been hospitalized or had surgery within the last 5 years.

  • Legal or Regulatory Documentation: Records regarding any past criminal history, administrative actions, or history of substance use, as the FAA strictly requires these for review.

  • Previous FAA Paperwork: Any letters, special issuances, or waivers from previous aviation medical examinations.

If you are uncertain whether a medical record is required, it is always best to bring it with you to avoid delays in your certification.

3. How to Prepare on the Day of Your Exam

  • Hydrate: Drink plenty of water before arriving so you are ready for the mandatory urine test.

  • Avoid Triggers: Refrain from consuming caffeine, energy drinks, nicotine, or excessive carbohydrates/sugar immediately prior to your exam, as these can cause temporary spikes in blood pressure or urine glucose.

What to Expect During Your Appointment

Your comprehensive aviation medical exam will include:

  • A meticulous review of your medical history, current medications, vitamins, and supplements.

  • A physical examination and visual acuity testing (near, intermediate, and distant vision).

  • A standard urine screening (checking for blood, protein, and sugar).

  • A review of any special issuance paperwork or FAA correspondence to ensure full regulatory compliance.

It is never our goal to keep pilots grounded. Our absolute priority is to act as your partner, navigating FAA regulations thoroughly and professionally to help you stay safely in the cockpit.
